The Specialist Major in Environmental Science builds upon the Core Major in Science to give you skills to identify, conceptualise and analyse a diverse environmental future. You鈥檒l be introduced to major environmental challenges and be inspired to innovate solutions using cutting-edge approaches.

Exhibit a breadth of scientific knowledge and technical skills, with specialist depth in environmental science.
Develop critical thinking and data analysis skills to solve a range of complex problems in local and global contexts.
Select and apply appropriate practical, conceptual and/or theoretical techniques or scientific tools to conduct scientific investigations relevant to a range of disciplines, with particular specialisation in environmental science.
Demonstrate the ability to collect scientific data individually or collaboratively, within legal, ethical and social frameworks, with key laboratory and field-based competencies.
Evaluate current and emerging ethical and cultural issues that arise in contemporary science and exhibit cross-cultural competence and social responsibility.
Critically analyse, synthesise and integrate scientific knowledge, literature, data, or arguments for effective communication to a range of audiences.

For international students studying an Australian Year 12 qualification, your selection rank is your ATAR plus any adjustment factors you may be eligible for.
If you鈥檙e an international student who has not completed an Australian Year 12, we also recognise a range of other international qualifications for direct entry. These include the NCEA Level 3, the International Baccalaureate (IB) and GCE A Levels, plus other country-specific qualifications.
English language requirements
Academic IELTS of 6.0 or equivalent, with no band score below 6.0; TOEFL iBT: Overall score of 60 with: R: 13; L: 12; S: 18; W: 21; Pearson Test of Academic English: 50 with no skill score below 50; Cambridge English Scale: 169 with no sub-score below 169: Occupational English Test: No grade lower than 'C' in any of the sub-tests.
