Progress your career in the community services sector with this qualification. Learn the skills needed to work with people from diverse backgrounds, design and deliver person-centred services to individuals and groups, and make a difference to their circumstances. You will learn how to provide support, advocacy or interventions to individual clients, groups or communities across a range of services. You will gain skills to work autonomously with limited responsibility within established parameters, and also work with others in projects or teams. This course is designed to give you training in a wide range of roles in the community services industry, which also overlaps with work in other sectors such as mental health, advocacy, peer work, youth work, aged care and disability. As part of this course, you will undertake a supervised or simulated work placement where you will be able to apply the skills and knowledge you have learned.

An IELTS score (academic) of 6.0 with no band score less than 5.0 or equivalent.
Completion of CHC32015 Certificate III in Community Services OR CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support is required for entry into this course at Central Regional TAFE, Kalgoorlie Campus, North Metropolitan TAFE, Leederville Campus, North Regional TAFE, Broome Campus and South Metropolitan TAFE, Murdoch Campus.
Students must be 18 years of age prior to commencing this course, in order to participate in the work placement.
Students will require the equivalent to Australian Year 10 only for entry into this course at Central Regional TAFE, Geraldton Campus and South Regional TAFE, Albany and Bunbury Campuses.
This course requires immunisations and/or proof of vaccination status before attending mandatory work placement. Costs and vaccine requirements may vary depending on your placement centre and/or doctors fee schedule. Please follow instructions/advice provided to you during enrolment/orientation. You will not be able to complete your course if these requirements are not met.
