The Graduate Diploma in Genomics and Health provides advanced training in the current and potential impact on health and medicine brought about by advances in genomics and related technologies. The Graduate Diploma in Genomics and Health is a 1-year nested award within the 2-year Master of Genomics and Health. Can be applied to a range of future careers: Designed for a broad audience, the graduate programs in Genomics and Health will prepare you for a future within a wide range of genomics related careers. Relevant to medical and allied health professionals who wish to upskill in the area of genomics and medicine. Or recent undergraduates in science and biomedicine who want to broaden their careers beyond the laboratory. It will also be relevant to those with a health or science background who seek careers in clinical trials, education, community-based organisations such as genetic support groups, government or those seeking an entry point into a graduate research degree. A flexible and personalised learning experience: The program adopts a blended learning approach, utilising both self-paced online learning, and face-to-face tutorials and workshops that allows you to apply your knowledge in a problem-based learning environment. Taught by research and education leaders in genomics: Led by research and education leaders within the Melbourne Children's Campus, incorporating expertise from the Royal Children's Hospital, the Murdoch Children's Institute for Research and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics. Further study: You can further develop your genomics expertise by completing an additional year (100 credit points) of study with the Master of Genomics and Health.

In order to be considered for entry, applicants must have completed:
an undergraduate degree, in a cognate discipline such as Science, Health Sciences, Social Work, Psychology, Medicine, or related discipline, with a weighted average mark of at least H3 (65%) or equivalent and pre-requisite studies with subject marks of at least 65% (H3) in: biology to first year undergraduate level, or equivalent and genetics to second year undergraduate level or equivalent OR
six years of documented relevant work experience in a cognate discipline and pre-requisite studies with subject marks of at least 65% (H3) in biology to first year undergraduate level, or equivalent and genetics to second year undergraduate level, or equivalent OR
an undergraduate degree in any discipline, or equivalent, with a weighted average mark of at least H3 (65%), or equivalent, and pre-requisite studies with subject marks of at least 65% (H3) in: biology to first year undergraduate level, or equivalent and genetics to second year undergraduate level or equivalent and at least two years of documented relevant work experience in a cognate discipline
English language requirements:
IELTS (academic English Only): Overall 7.0 (with written 7.0 and no band less than 6.0)
TOEFL Internet-based test: 94 + ; Writing 27; Speaking 18; Reading 13; Listening 13;
Pearson Test of English Academic: 65 + written communicative skill of 65 and no other communicative skill below 50
Cambridge English: Advanced/ Certificate of Advanced English (CAE): 185 + no less than 185 in Writing and 169 in each other skill
