This major is designed for qualified teachers who are interested in upskilling in HASS. You鈥檒l learn the pedagogy/curriculum of HASS, including the principles and practices of teaching and learning HASS from Years 7-10 in History, Civics, Geography, Economics and Business.
A key focus will be placed on teaching strategies, curriculum planning and the creation of learning resources and assessments. You鈥檒l develop resource portfolios on allocated topics of work which will include a variety of learning experiences that draw links to educational theories and practices.
You鈥檒l also be able to take your knew-found knowledge and apply it in simulated lessons with our SimLab technology before reflecting on your experiences.
Your future career
Upon completing this major, you could forge a career teaching Humanities and Social Science to years 7-10 in the Western Australian school curriculum.

Bachelor of Education (AQF Level 7) or equivalent OR a bachelor degree from any discipline (AQF level 7) and at least 2 years full time (or equivalent) of teaching experience in the education sector.
International English Language Testing System (IELTS): 6.5 Overall with 6.0 Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening; Cambridge Advanced English (CAE): 191 Overall with 185 Reading, Writing and 200 Speaking, Listening; Pearson Test of English (PTE): 76 Overall for Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening; Test of English as a Foreign Language 脨 IBT (TOEFL IBT): 102 Overall with 24 for Reading, Writing and 29 for Speaking, Listening.
