This programme draws together a variety of subjects that involve applying mathematical and statistical techniques in the financial services industry. It is designed to pave the way for students wishing to embark on a career as an actuary. Students will be prepared for professional exams leading to the qualification of an actuary from a globally recognized professional actuarial body.

Professional Pathways & Exemptions:
IFoA: Our programme is accredited by the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA), UK. Students in our programme are eligible for exemptions from 6 IFoA papers, which are: CS1, CS2, CM1, CM2, CB1, and CB2.

SOA: Our program is also recognized by the Society of Actuaries (SOA) and listed in SOA Universities & Colleges with Actuarial Programs - Advanced Curriculum (UCAP-AC). We cover six preliminary exams in the curriculum and provide three VEE exemptions.

CAS: Our programme has been recognized by the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) as a Silver Level partner. We offer students comprehensive preparation for the CAS exams and a career in general insurance. Our students have the opportunity to earn up to five exam credits and we also equip them to take additional exams such as Exam 5 and MAS-II.

STPM: Average C+ or CGPA 2.33 (minimum 2 principals);
A Level: Minimum 12 points (Minimum grade D from 2 subjects);
Australian Matriculation: ATAR 60;
Canadian Matriculation: 60%;
Monash University Foundation Year: 60%;
Sunway Foundation in Arts: CGPA 2.0;
Sunway Foundation in Science and Technology: CGPA 2.0;
Unified Examination Certificate: maximum 26 points from 5 subjects (all Grade Bs);
International Baccalaureate: Completed with minimum 25 points (excluding bonus points)
Sunway Diploma Studies: CAVG 50% or CGPA 2.0

Other Qualifications:

Any other equivalent qualifications
Applicant with no standard qualification will be considered on a case-to-case basis

Specific Requirements: Credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent

PTE Academic 50 overall (minimum 46 in each skill)
MUET Band 4
SPM English B3 or B+
UEC English B4
O-Level English (1119) Credit
Sunway Intensive English Programme (IEP) Pass Level 4 with minimum 65%
ESL/English Satisfactory level in Pre-University programmes, where the medium of instruction is English
