All our specialisations are accredited by Engineering New Zealand, a signatory to the Washington Accord, making our BE(Hons) a recognised engineering qualification in many countries.A Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Chemical and Materials Engineering introduces you to applied chemistry, materials characterisation, process engineering, energy, and mathematical modelling. This gives you the solid grounding necessary for a broad range of careers. The University of Auckland is also the only tertiary institution in New Zealand that offers an undergraduate specialisation with this unique combination of both Chemical and Materials Engineering.

Applicant must have secondary school qualification or equivalent; Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE): 22 including Mathematics and Physics (Scores are calculated as an aggregate of 5 subjects from Category A and/ or Category C subjects (Category B subjects are excluded). The 5 subjects must include the 4 Core subjects in Category A and the best elective subject from either Category A or C. The subject level of 1 is equal to 1 point up to 5 points for the level of 5, and 6 for 5 and 5. If extended Mathematics is taken with Core Mathematics, the scores may be combined and averaged as one score.)

You need to have one of the following:

International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum total score of 24.

General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level. You must have completed a minimum of three A-Level subjects.

Cambridge International Examinations (CIE). You must have completed a minimum of three A-level subjects.

GCE 鈥楢 Level requirements apply to 鈥楢 Level qualifications examined by bodies such as AQA, OCR, Edexcel, WJEC, CCEA and Pearson Education Limited taken outside of New Zealand.

IELTS (Academic): Overall score of 6.5 and no bands below 6.0; Internet-based TOEFL (iBT): Overall score of 90 and written score of 21; Paper-based TOEFL: Overall score of 68 and a writing score of 21; Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) or Cambridge English Proficiency (CPE): Overall score of 176 and no bands below 169; Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: Overall score of 58 and no PTE Communicative score below 50; Foundation Certificate in English for Academic Purposes (FCertEAP): Grade of B-; Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB): 85.
