Apa yang akan saya pelajari?

Through a partnership between the University of Illinois at Chicago's College of Dentistry and the School of Public Health, the only fully accredited school of public health in Illinois, UIC offers a unique opportunity to its students to earn the joint degree of Doctor of Dental Medicine and Master of Science in Clinical Translational Sciences (MS CTS). Graduates of the joint degree program have the skills to direct a broad range of clinical studies, including the translation of scientific knowledge into clinical practice, and are able to interact effectively with all of the complementary disciplines with which clinical investigators need to collaborate. Graduates are eligible for further training in specialty programs and will be able to advance successfully to tenure-track positions in dental schools that require research for promotion.

The UIC College of Medicine (COM) and the UIC School of Public Health offer a joint degree leading to the Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Master of Science in Clinical and Translational Science (MS CTS) degrees.

  • In addition to the Graduate College minimum requirements, applicants must meet the following program requirements:
  • Students must meet the admission criteria of both programs and are admitted separately to each through their respective applications. All students should contact the MS CTS Program Coordinator who will explain the application process for MS CTS admission.
  • Acceptance into the DMD/MS CTS Joint Degree Program requires approval by the DMD/MS CTS Joint Degree Committee. For students applying to both programs simultaneously, MS CTS admission will be contingent upon both admission to the DMD program and the support of the College of Dentistry director of graduate studies. Prior to admitting students into the MS CTS, HPA will check with COD to determine whether the student has been accepted into the DMD program.
  • Admission to the MS CTS program will be determined based on the support of the College of Dentistry director of graduate studies, previous academic achievement, research potential, commitment to CTS as evidenced by prior participation in clinical research, and two letters of recommendation.

  • They must have obtained TOEFL iBT - Total Score 80; TOEFL with a score of 550 on (paper-based) or an IELTS Overall Score - 6.5 with a score of subsection minimum as follows: listening 6, writing 6, reading 6, and speaking 6 or an PTE with a score of 54 (with subsection minimum as follows: listening 47, writing 56, reading 51, and speaking 53).
