Through a partnership between the University of Illinois at Chicago's College of Dentistry and the School of Public Health, the only fully accredited school of public health in Illinois, UIC offers a unique opportunity to its students to earn the joint degree of Doctor of Dental Medicine and Master of Science in Clinical Translational Sciences (MS CTS). Graduates of the joint degree program have the skills to direct a broad range of clinical studies, including the translation of scientific knowledge into clinical practice, and are able to interact effectively with all of the complementary disciplines with which clinical investigators need to collaborate. Graduates are eligible for further training in specialty programs and will be able to advance successfully to tenure-track positions in dental schools that require research for promotion.
The UIC College of Medicine (COM) and the UIC School of Public Health offer a joint degree leading to the Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Master of Science in Clinical and Translational Science (MS CTS) degrees.
