What is student life like at iCLA?
Bachelor of International Liberal Arts in Interdisciplinary Arts
Being in iCLA has been a fantastic experience for me. A lot of people are thrown off by the fact that the class sizes are small, but for me that just made it all the better, since by the time the 2nd or 3rd week of class goes by you'd probably know everyone in the class, and some might even be your best friend, and it's also super nice to be able to talk freely with the professors too, making the class atmosphere fun. The community is probably the highlight for me, as someone who grew up in a small city for 90% of their life it's such an amazing experience and opportunity to meet people from around the world, and it's great to be able to learn different cultures and collaborate with them too, as it basically opens your mind to just how big the world is. Overall, i'd say coming here to iCLA has been a blast, as now i can safely say i've met people from all over the world, and not only that the community really made the iCLA experience so much better, as pretty much most of the events held in iCLA are student led, and even then they'll make sure you're gonna have a fun night during the event with them!

Being a student at iCLA has been a life changing experience for me. I really appreciate being able to study at a small university because I have been able to form strong personal relationships with my professors that have really helped bring out the best in me as a student. I find it really interesting getting to meet around 100 new students from around the world every semester and I now have friends in many countries I am looking forward to visit someday. As a creative, studying here has helped me meet many talented students who I have made music with and been able to perform our songs on stage at the Gala every semester. There's also a growing music scene in Kofu and it has been really fun being able to perform in the city and be a part of it.

Student life at iCLA is an incredible experience, full of opportunities to experience various cultures, learn new skills, and have a lot of fun. First and foremost, iCLA is home to students from around the world. This diverse community allows us to learn about different cultural perspectives, broaden our horizons, and develop a global mindset. The presence of international students enhances our learning environment by bringing unique insights and experiences into the classroom. Additionally, our faculty is just as diverse, with many teachers from overseas. This international mix among both students and staff ensures a rich and varied educational experience. I also love that iCLA is located in Kofu, the capital of Yamanashi Prefecture. During holidays and weekends, we can explore many beautiful historical sites and enjoy fun places like Fuji-Q Highland, famous for its thrilling and high roller coasters. On top of that, iCLA regularly hosts events. At the end of each semester, we have a Gala event, with each Gala having its own theme. This semester鈥檚 theme was 鈥淣injas and Yokai.鈥 The Gala featured an exhibition of student work, musical performances, snacks, and even a party at the end. Of course, there is much more that makes the study experience at iCLA unique, but these are the main aspects I wanted to highlight. The vibrant international community, diverse faculty, and engaging activities all contribute to a truly enriching experience.
